At Joy's Sitters, we know that building a lasting relationship with the right caregiver is important—and sometimes, one amazing sitter is all it takes. That’s why we created the Snag a Sitter program, exclusively for our current families.

This unique offering allows you to transition one of your trusted Joy's Sitters into a permanent caregiver without the stress or steep placement fees typical of traditional agencies. You’ll have the opportunity to test out a sitter through our standard booking process before making any long-term decisions, ensuring the match is right for both sides.

If it’s a fit, the program includes a one-time flat fee, a built-in trial period, and a complimentary annual membership for ongoing backup care. It's a simple, thoughtful solution for families who’ve already found a sitter they love—and want to keep.

 


How the Snag a Sitter Option Works for Current Families:

  1. Identify Your Sitter
    If you’ve connected with a sitter you’d love to welcome into your home long-term, let us know! We also encourage you to speak with the sitter directly to gauge their interest.

  2. Express Your Interest
    Reach out to Joy’s Sitters by Call, Text, or Email to share your intention to hire the sitter for ongoing care. We’ll connect with them to discuss the opportunity and confirm their interest, too.

  3. Pay the Snag a Sitter Fee
    Once everyone’s on board, sign our Family-Agency Agreement and pay the $2,500 Snag a Sitter fee to finalize the arrangement. Of this amount, $250 goes directly to the sitter as a thank you and congratulations gift from Joy's Sitters, celebrating their new permanent role with your family.

  4. Employ Your Sitter
    After payment, the sitter officially becomes your employee. From that point on, you’ll handle their schedule, pay, and any other employment arrangements directly.

  5. Gift to you from us! 

You'll receive a complimentary Annual Membership with Joy's Sitters, providing a Backup Care option—perfect for those unexpected moments when your permanent caregiver is unavailable.

 

Our 90-Day Credit Promise
We want this to be the right fit for everyone. If things don’t work out within the first 90 days, you’ll still keep your complimentary membership—and we’ll apply a $1,000 credit toward a future Snag a Sitter match with another Joy’s Sitter you love. That way, you can try again without starting from scratch.


FAQs – Snag a Sitter

Is this program available for new families or only current families?

The Snag a Sitter program is exclusively available for families who are already using Joy’s Sitters. This ensures that families have had time to build a relationship with their sitter before making a long-term commitment.

What is included in the $2,500 Snag a Sitter fee?

The $2,500 fee covers the transition of the sitter to a permanent caregiver. $250 of this amount is given directly to the sitter as a thank-you gift for accepting the new role with your family.

Keep in mind: You're also given a complementary Annual Membership! ($1800 Value!)

Do I need to sign any contracts?

Yes, after confirming your decision to bring the sitter on permanently, you’ll be asked to sign our Family-Agency Agreement before making the payment.

Will I still have access to backup care if my sitter is unavailable?

Yes! As part of the Snag a Sitter program, you’ll receive a complimentary 1-year Annual Membership, giving you access to our network of backup sitters. This ensures you're covered in case your permanent sitter becomes unavailable.

What happens if the arrangement doesn’t work out with the sitter?

If the sitter isn’t the right fit after becoming your permanent caregiver, you are responsible for hiring a new sitter through the Snag a Sitter program and paying the associated fees. However, we offer a

90-Day Credit Promise: if things don’t work out within the first 90 days, you’ll receive a $1,000 credit toward a future Snag a Sitter fee with another sitter you choose. This credit gives you the opportunity to try again with a different sitter at a reduced cost.

Keep in mind that you'll still have access to your complimentary Annual Membership, which means you’ll be able to book your new sitter with no additional booking fees, making the transition as seamless and cost-effective as possible.

Am I responsible for paying my sitter’s salary and taxes?

Yes, that will be handled between you and your sitter. Once your sitter transitions to a permanent role, they become your direct employee. You’ll manage their salary, taxes, benefits, and any other employment-related matters. Companies like Poppins Payroll can help with that.
